Home Sweet Home
My and 3 other guys will be living in here for a month. It is a timber frame with a canvas cover. It is insulated and has a propane heater, eletric and WiFi!.
Great to see where you are Tom - it does look rather barren. Shd be some good auroras and big skies though. I guess you'll see a big change in the weather over a month at this time of year. Looking forward to more shots - keep safe, Cheers Dad
Yep, big skys up here, you can see for a very long way. Very few plants, nothing mote than 10cm tall, mostly boulders and cryoturbated gravel/mud. The permafroft goes down to 300m in areas here. nit sure how close to the surface it is at the moment. There are a few patches of snow around, I guess they may be sitting on permafrost.
Safty is a very big thing up here, we have a survival bag on the grid we are surveying, it contains a tent and supplies for 4 days.
I am a geologist from England, living in Newfoundland Canada. I am currently working in mineral exploration geophysics, this is interesting work that gets me into some interesting locations.
