The big one got away! The northern lights were Amazing the night before last, there were 4 bands like this, but very well defined, they went right across the sky the into a spiral in the north. By the time I got my camera and changed lenses theis is all that was left. They were very bitght, even against the street lights.I'll keep my eyes open for more, and have my camera ready.

Look forward to some more pics....You are so lucky to get to see this I feel a trip north coming on....and that doesnt mean a shopping expedition to Salisbury!
If you are planning a trip north you should try to schedule it with the next sunspot Maximum. Have a look at spaceweather.com, thysshould have some predictions there. I think we are approaching a maxinum in the next year or two.
